MIPCOM / MIPTV, the International Market of Communications Programmes is a 4 day trade show, held bi-annually Cannes. The event sees the biggest international broadcasters buying and selling content. ITV have held a presence at the events for over 30 years and have now moved to an independant space opposite the Palais des Festival, the new home of ITV Studios House. 

DesignScene were appointed by ITV to design, produce and install a unique space comprising 10 x 40ft shipping containers. The ambition was for ITV Studios House to be a statement installation, elevating their profile and cutting through the noise in a very crowded market.

The main challenge was to replicate the full functionality and versatility of their previous space, in a mobile, modular structure that could be built and deconstructed in a matter of days. DesignScene commissioned Helix 3D for the structural design and fabrication of the containers, that were designed to be as ‘plug and play’ as possible.

ITV Big Think is an annual event, designed for ITV's colleagues to share in a day of speaker sessions at the BFI, Southbank, London. The event was hosted by This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield and Ranvir Singh with a speaker line-up including Grayson Perry, Danny Baker, Caitlin Moran, Sheridan Smith and Richard Curtis.

We were brought on board to help create a wow theatre experience that didn’t detract from the caliber of the speakers, but exceeded the expectations of the audience. We built a seamless screen in front of the existing cinema screen and projected different animated speaker states, creating an impactful, creative backdrop that reflected each speaker’s achievements and personality.

In addition, we set up a satellite link to Berlin with key speaker, Arianna Huffington, so she could speak to the audience live with Ranvir interviewing her.

Throughout the rest of the venue, we branded key spaces to create a real visual impact and continue the ‘Think Big’ creative and messaging. With solid window vinyls, an alphabet magnetic wall, a 9-metre impact wall with lighting and 3D messaging and a large press wall, the venue was transformed into an innovative space.
