WHAT DID THE CLIENT WANT?
To build awareness of Yahoo’s new offerings including Yahoo Originals, Yahoo Live and Yahoo Music as well as cementing Yahoo among the top digital content creators at SXSW.
WHAT WAS OUR APPROACH?
The House of Yahoo, centrally located during SXSW, showcasing how big ideas can shine at Yahoo.

THE SOLUTION
We took over Brazos Hall for an epic eight days and nights of programming during SXSW Interactive, Comedy and Music. The upstairs roof terrace featured a relaxed lounge area with open bar and DJ whilst downstairs hosted the main event programming. Installation pieces included projection mapped cubes for Yahoo Magazines, mobile digital slabs for Yahoo Originals and a suspended video ring for Yahoo Live.
SXSW Interactive programming incorporated live-streamed panel sessions while, in the evenings, we transformed the space and hosted premiere screenings, cast panels and themed parties. We also ran a guerilla campaign for Community with costumed characters creating photo moments. For SXSW Music we recorded 20 daytime acoustic sessions before transforming the space for five evening concerts with 35 artists including Travis Scot and Wiz Kalifa, broadcast live in partnership with Live Nation.
